I painted and drew in college and have continued on and off for many years since. In the past, mostly abstractions, both large and small. Then, scaled architectural drawings and figures.

Recently, however, I stopped to look at a motorcycle while out on a walk. I was drawn in particular to the mechanical complexity of the engine juxtaposed with the oddly-shaped negative spaces through the frame. I came home and began drawing bikes. Then I started looking for images of industrial settings. More mechanical complexity and additional oddly-shaped negative spaces. Abandoned industrial settings and machinery in a state of decay felt especially fitting for 2020.

These drawings are the result of what I've found. Hope you enjoy them.
